On June 29, I bought a Bluetooth stereo headset from Blue Ant, via Malcolm Distributors, who sells through Amazon.com. I’ve never been able to get it to work, as far as I can tell it arrived broken. It’s just a useless hunk of plastic that cost me $100. I just sent the following message to Blue Ant:
On June 29, I purchased this headset from Amazon. It arrived completely nonfunctional—I have never been able to use it. I contacted your tech support by phone, and they suggested I contact the distributor. So I contacted the distributors, Malcolm Distributors, through Amazon, which is how I bought the product initially, and received a very long and complicated e-mail from them which I was unable to understand.
Later, I looked over the e-mail, and discovered that it said I had 10 days to return the unit. Since 10 days had already elapsed, I was very disappointed.
I have postponed writing to you this far because I dislike confrontations. However, I’m costing myself money here. I paid $100 for this device and it’s been completely useless to me. I feel ripped off. I want someone to come forward and fix this—not pass the buck, not send me a complicated e-mail with a buried “gotcha” in it, but fix my problem.
Let’s see what happens. I’m not optimistic. I think I’m out $100.
